01 / THE CARE

Life doesn’t stop
when your shift ends.

Rotating rosters can make looking after yourself complicated. Start with what matters most to you, then build a practical plan together.

01

Sleep & your roster

Explore sleep patterns, changing shifts and recovery. Understand when symptoms may need further assessment or specialist care.

SLEEP · CIRCADIAN ROUTINE
02

Fatigue, understood

Talk through tiredness, health history, medicines and daily demands. Consider possible causes and appropriate next steps.

FATIGUE · EVERYDAY FUNCTION
03

Your longer-term health

Review relevant cardiometabolic risks, nutrition, movement and preventive health priorities, with testing when clinically indicated.

PREVENTION · SUSTAINABLE HABITS

Care is individual. Tests, prescriptions and referrals depend on clinical assessment; they are never guaranteed as part of a package.

ROOM FOR A REAL CONVERSATION

You bring your routine.
We start there.

No perfect schedule required. Together, we focus on one or two meaningful priorities and agree on steps that fit around your work and life.

02 / YOUR JOURNEY

Clear next steps.
From the very start.

A consultation is the beginning of your care, with a written plan and a clear approach to follow-up.

01Explore the service

Read about the scope of care, fees and telehealth limits. MyShiftDoc is designed to complement your usual GP and in-person services.

02Check it’s the right fit

Check your age, location and reason for seeking care. Some symptoms or circumstances need an in-person assessment or urgent help. The doctor confirms suitability during your consultation.

03Choose a time & review the fee

When bookings open, review the appointment length, full fee, Medicare position and cancellation terms before paying. You will receive confirmation, a video link and appointment instructions.

04Share the essentials securely

Before your appointment, complete the clinical intake through the practice’s designated patient platform. Include your concerns, medicines, allergies, relevant history, usual GP, shift pattern and any existing results. Review the privacy notice and consent information. Do not send medical details through this website.

05Meet by video

Your doctor checks your identity, current physical location and callback number, and confirms that telehealth is appropriate. Discuss your history and priorities, then agree on the next steps. If an examination is needed, your doctor will explain how to arrange in-person care.

06Leave with a written plan

Your summary sets out what was identified, what to do now, any investigations or referrals, symptoms that need earlier help, and when and how to review.

07Arrange any investigations

Only clinically indicated tests and referrals are requested. Check eligibility, fees and any gap with the pathology, imaging or specialist provider before proceeding. Agree on when tests should be completed and how results will be followed up.

08Review results & progress

Discuss the meaning of your results and any changes to your plan. Urgent findings need earlier action and must not wait for a routine review. No news does not mean normal results: contact the practice through the designated clinical channel if results have not been discussed by the agreed time.

09Continue with the right care

Arrange further review when useful, or return to your usual care team. With your consent, a summary can be shared with your usual GP. There is no requirement to subscribe or book ongoing appointments.

03 / TIME FOR YOUR HEALTH

Considered care.
Clear fees.

The proposed appointment options below are for our upcoming service. Final fees and rebate information will be confirmed before bookings open.

EVERYDAY CARE · WHEN YOU NEED IT

Short consultation

A focused video consultation of approximately 10 minutes for a suitable repeat-prescription request or illness assessment, including a medical certificate where clinically appropriate.

Choose your reason for booking:

  • Repeat-prescription assessment: review an existing medicine, relevant records and any monitoring needed.
  • Medical-certificate assessment: discuss your illness and whether a certificate is clinically justified.

After your initial MyShiftDoc assessment$35

AUD · proposed fees · pay per consultation

Check suitability ↗

Your consultation fee covers the assessment. Prescriptions and certificates are not guaranteed. When appropriate within the same consultation, there is no separate charge for issuing a prescription or certificate, and no double charge for both.

The established-patient fee applies after completing the initial care assessment. More complex concerns, new medicines or overdue monitoring may need a longer consultation or in-person care. Any additional appointment and fee will be discussed before proceeding.

Make the review work for you.

Your focused review can address one agreed priority: understanding existing blood results, reviewing medicines and supplements, refining your sleep and roster plan, reviewing cardiometabolic risks, or discussing an appropriate referral. Your doctor will advise if more time or information is needed.

No monthly membership is required. Routine prescriptions or certificates issued as part of an already-paid consultation carry no additional issuing fee.

What to know before booking

Private consultation fees are separate from medicines, pathology, imaging and specialist fees. Medicare eligibility for the consultation is not yet confirmed; do not assume a rebate. A test request does not guarantee Medicare coverage or bulk billing. Cancellation, rescheduling and refund terms will be published before payment is enabled.

04 / A THOUGHTFUL FIRST STEP

Is this the right
care for you?

Read the service exclusions before continuing. This brief guide helps you explore the service. It is not a medical assessment. Your answers stay on this page and are not submitted or saved.

Need urgent help? For a medical emergency or immediate danger, call 000. Do not wait for a telehealth appointment.

Are you 18 or older?
Will you be physically in Australia during your appointment?
Is this for non-urgent care within the services described above?

05 / YOUR DOCTORS

Melbourne roots.
Care around your life.

Doctor-led telehealth · Largely Melbourne-based

MyShiftDoc is run by several doctors, largely based in Melbourne. Our doctors bring collective clinical experience across cardiothoracic surgery, cardiology, geriatrics, paediatrics, general medicine and general practice.

Our approach centres on careful assessment, practical advice and understanding the person behind the roster. Consultations give you space to ask questions and agree on a clear next step.

Practitioner profiles and appointment availability will be shared before bookings open.

06 / GOOD QUESTIONS

The details
that matter.

Does this replace my regular GP?

No. MyShiftDoc provides focused telehealth care. Continue seeing your usual GP for broader care, examinations and ongoing management. A summary can be shared with them with your consent.

Can I get a prescription or specialist referral?

Where clinically appropriate and within the doctor’s scope, a consultation may lead to a prescription or referral. Neither is guaranteed. Schedule 8 medicines are outside the proposed service scope. An in-person assessment or another clinician may be required.

Will my blood tests or scans be bulk billed?

Not necessarily. It depends on the specific test, clinical indication, Medicare rules, requester eligibility and the provider’s billing policy. Ask the testing provider to confirm the total price and any Medicare rebate before the test.

What happens with abnormal or missing results?

Your care plan should state who is reviewing results and when to expect contact. Urgent findings require prompt action, not a wait for a booked review. Keep your contact details current and follow up if you have not heard by the agreed date. Missing a paid review does not remove the practice’s responsibility to manage outstanding results.

Who is this service not suitable for?

MyShiftDoc provides planned, non-emergency care for adults. The following are outside the proposed service:

  • Patients under 18 or anyone physically outside Australia during the consultation.
  • Medical emergencies or immediate danger. Call 000 or seek emergency care; do not wait for an appointment.
  • Acute mental health crises or immediate risk of harm requiring urgent assessment and support.
  • Pregnancy-related assessment or antenatal care. Contact your maternity team or usual clinician. Pregnancy alone does not automatically exclude unrelated suitable care.
  • Problems needing a physical examination, procedure or urgent in-person assessment.
  • Schedule 8 medicine requests and other prescribing outside the treating doctor's competence or service scope.
  • Occupational fitness-for-duty, pre-employment or return-to-work clearance assessments. These differ from an ordinary illness-related medical certificate.
  • Complex or unstable conditions that cannot be safely managed within a focused telehealth consultation.

Your doctor confirms suitability individually. A short booking does not guarantee a short assessment, prescription or certificate. Where another service is needed, your doctor will explain the next step.

Can I book from anywhere in Australia?

The planned service is for adults physically in Australia at the time of consultation, subject to clinical suitability and appointment availability. Times will need to be checked carefully against your local time zone. Overseas consultations are not offered.

Can I send a message between appointments?

The clinical messaging channel and its monitored hours will be provided when the service opens. Messages are not an emergency service. Do not send clinical information through this website or assume a message has been reviewed.

How will my information be handled?

This preview has no patient account, medical upload, payment form or clinical record system. The suitability guide does not transmit or store your answers. Before bookings open, the practice will publish its full privacy and collection notices and identify the platform used for clinical records and communication.
